VAULT EXPLAINED
What is Vault?
Vault is a new Music Venue opening in Manchester. The focus of the space is to highlight lesser known bands and artists whilst letting them mingle and meet more well known musicians. It's meant to be a place all things music and youth culture.
Why Vault?
I chose to design Vault because of my love for music and live performances. As someone in a band, i think it's very important to highlight unknown groups and give them a space and platform to network and prove themselves to people. I'm passionate about it, so when i had the opportunity to make something related to a hobby of mine, it was a perfect choice.
What are the main inspirations for the project?
As proven by my personal study, the bands and music culture of Manchester in the 80's and 90's were my main inspiration for the style and focus of the project. I specifically like the movement and energy of the time. I translated this inspiration through my focus on motion in a lot of my branding. The blur and noise featured in most of the work is meant to recreate the nauseous feeling of being intoxicated in a small, dingy venue, music thumping in your ears and people suffocating you in all directions.
